My name is Hannah Ben-Shmuel, and I am a growing PR practitioner. I recently joined the team at Penguin Random House as their 2026 summer publicity intern. In this role, I have learned more about the intricacies of the publishing industry and helped to bring meaningful stories to people all around the world.
I recently just graduated from Syracuse University as a dual major in PR and Creative Writing with a minor in History. I love being challenged and am constantly looking for ways to test myself while contributing to things I am passionate about. This is why I became involved in organizations like the Junior Panhellenic Council and Panhellenic Council, organizations dedicated to giving opportunities for college women to succeed and become better versions of themselves. As the VP of Membership Development for Panhellenic, I was in charge of ensuring new members have as many opportunities for success as possible, which includes coordinating their educational process, enforcing a campus-wide anti-hazing policy, and managing my own board, the Junior Panhellenic Council.
Aside from this, I was also an Associate PR Intern at Flip the Lens Media, a digital educational media company dedicated to allowing for global connection. In this role, I was challenged to build up the brand's PR strategy from the ground up while contributing to developing the brand's new educational products.
All of this displays how I am a hard-working, organized, and passionate communicator who is willing to work constantly to ensure success. When I am not working, I like spending my time reading, listening to music, and writing.
